From November 3 – 4, 2005, The University of Winnipeg will host an important public conference on Women in Science. From career choices and educational opportunities for women just starting out to the experiences and insights of women well established, this upcoming conference will offer information and inspiration to young women considering careers in science and technology.

On Thursday, November 3, the keynote address will be presented by neurologist and astronaut Dr. Roberta Bondar, recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Science (2001) from The University of Winnipeg. The keynote address will take place at the Ramada Conference Centre at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, November 4, poster sessions at The University of Winnipeg will highlight the research of our female undergraduate students. As well, colloquia throughout the day on Friday will offer the insight of outstanding women scientists in a variety of areas. Finally, the conference will close with an information session and panel discussion addressing the issues facing female academics and offering insight into how to overcome the challenges they face.
