Alice’s Wonderland Inspires UW’s Devised Theatre

Students spin a new tale based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice stories and personal experiences, observations and poems

WINNIPEG, MB – The University of Winnipeg’s fourth-year Honours Collective Creation class and creators of last Fall’s Asyndesis: An Evening of Solo Performances presents the Lewis Carroll-inspired Borogroves and Keyholes with nightly performances at 8:00 pm from Mar. 18-22, 2008 at Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended.

Directed by Claire Borody, Borogroves and Keyholes is an original ensemble piece that explores the fragile and fleeting moments in life.

Devised by members of the Department of Theatre and Film’s Collective Creation class, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice stories and the question: Can you really map a life journey? Borogroves and Keyholes delves into the impact of decisions great and small upon each step in the individual and collective human journey. The result is woven into a visual, aural and textual collage that borrows and utilizes aspects of dance, film, music and the visual and plastic arts.
