Travis Greene appointed Associate Vice-President, Student Engagement

The University of Winnipeg is pleased to announce the appointment of Travis Greene (he/him) as Associate Vice-President, Student Engagement, effective July 1, 2024.

Greene is currently the Vice-President for Student Life and Success at Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College (NTC). Prior to joining Bemidji State and NTC in 2019, he served as Vice-Provost and Dean of Student Affairs at the California Institute of the Arts and as Dean of Students at Grinnell College.

With nearly 25 years of experience in student affairs, Greene brings strong expertise in a wide variety of areas including academic advising, career services, accessibility resources, student conduct and restorative justice, program evaluation and assessment, intercultural and international student affairs, leadership development, student health and counselling services, wellness programming, and 2SLGBTQ+ student services.

Throughout his career, Greene has consistently demonstrated a passion for fostering holistic student learning and success. He is a recognized leader in creating seamless learning experiences for students while providing culturally responsive systems of support.

Greene holds a Master of Education degree in Higher Education from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Communication from St. Olaf College. He is in his final year of a doctoral (Ed.D.) Student Affairs Administration and Leadership program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Part of the University’s commitment to being a thriving student-centred community, this newly created AVP role is dedicated to supporting students and Student Services. Travis brings a wealth of experience to the role, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.
