UWinnipeg is excited to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Week with a full schedule of on-campus and community events open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The festivities formally kick-off Tuesday, May 26 at 10 a.m. with a Progress and Two-Spirit flag-raising ceremony on the Wesley Hall front lawn, and culminate with the Pride Winnipeg Parade on Sunday, June 7. A full event listing, including registration links, can be found below.
Pride Week is held annually at UWinnipeg to recognize and amplify 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their voices. Events commemorate successes and achievements while remembering historic and current struggles and discrimination faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities.
“We’re looking forward to Pride Week!” said Cara Isaak, Pride committee co-chair and Director of Wesmen Athletics. “We’re grateful to all our friends on campus who have worked hard planning fantastic events so we can read, learn, share, spend time in community, and celebrate ourselves and each other.”
“Pride Week is a meaningful time to celebrate the strength, joy, visibility, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ members of our campus community,” said Travis Greene, Pride committee co-chair and Associate Vice-President, Student Engagement. “It also reminds us that creating a university where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported is shared work, grounded in care and respect.”
In addition to attending events, community members can also purchase a 2026 Pride Week t-shirt from the Campus Store. Five dollars from each sale supports the 2SLGBTQIA+ Scholarship, a $500 award given to a second-, third-, or fourth-year undergraduate student who is active in community service or demonstrates academic promise in research on topics of relevance to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
