University of Winnipeg Alumni Association AGM goes June 9
WINNIPEG, MB – Are you a University of Winnipeg alumnus? If you want to re-connect with your alma mater, please join us at The University of Winnipeg Alumni Association’s Annual General Meeting, Monday, June 9 in Riddell Hall.
University of Winnipeg President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lloyd Axworthy (BA ’61, LLD ’98) will bring greetings and guest speakers will be University of Winnipeg alumnae Diane Plamondon (BA ’77) and Lindor Reynolds (BA ’79), past recipient of The University of Winnipeg Distinguished Alumni Award. Their address, “I’m Just One Person, What Can I do?” will review their trip to Africa in 2007 with College Jeanne Sauve’s Students Without Borders. Having raised $250,000, the students provided medical supplies, school supplies and other forms of humanitarian assistance to a community in Mbour, Senegal over the course of a 17-day tour.
All members of the Alumni Association – graduates of the University, United College, Wesley College, Continuing Education, and those who have earned at least five degree credits at the University of Winnipeg – are invited to vote for The University of Winnipeg Alumni Association Council after presentations by nominees at the AGM. The Association encourages all alumni to vote and is pleased to also offer online voting from May 21-June 4 at alumni.uwinnipeg.ca.
