Rethinking Women’s Equality – Dr. Marsha Hanen

The public is welcome to attend a free lecture co-hosted by the Global College and University of Winnipeg Retirees Association.

Dr. Marsha Hanen will deliver a lecture entitled “WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? Rethinking Women’s Equality”:

WHEN: Wednesday, March 24, 2010
12:30 to 1:30PM

WHERE: Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall
3rd floor, Centennial Hall, The University of Winnipeg
515 Portage Avenue

Additional background:

There is a fairly widespread belief that women have achieved full equality in Western democracies and we should now turn all our attention to helping to create similar accomplishments in developing countries. Dr. Hanen will argue that significant impediments remain to women’s equality nearly everywhere, and addressing them may require more innovative and integrative thinking and acting than exists at present.
