WINNIPEG, MB – They’ve uncovered corruption, exposed break-ins, tracked criminals and brought down a United States president. Now is your chance to hear from top journalists at an international conference – Holding Power to Account – co-hosted by CBC and The University of Winnipeg, being held from Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15, 2014. Early bird registration is in effect until May 16.

Holding powerful interests to account is one of journalism’s most important missions. It’s critical to democracy and the preservation of human rights. Journalists, academics and the public are coming together from around the world to debate the important issues that investigative journalism can help illuminate. Keynote speakers and panelists from Italy, Uganda, Malaysia, Australia, India, Nepal, Austria, Romania, the U.S. and Canada include Pulitzer Prize winning Carl Bernstein, and journalists Peter Mansbridge, Adrienne Arsenault and Diana Swain.
