FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 07, 2014

WINNIPEG, MB – It’s at the heart of what drives businesses to build successfully, but too often the state and implications of innovation are misunderstood. On November 6, 2014, business leaders will gather in Winnipeg for the 2014 Annual Leadership Symposium: Embracing Innovation, to hear the latest research on innovation from the Conference Board of Canada, and stories of what has worked best among colleagues and contemporaries.

“The Leadership Symposium was very well received last year with over 100 CEOs and Senior Executives participating in discussions, networking, and learning from one another on how to address typical leadership issues”, comments Dr. Sylvie Albert, Dean of the Faculty of Business & Economics at UW. “The proposed focus on innovation is of strategic importance across the country with many solutions being put forward to strengthen public and private organizations, we look forward to the many pearls of wisdom that will come out from the symposium this year”, she says.

The day will be hosted by Wab Kinew, Acting Vice-President of Indigenous Affairs, and will include the signature Fireside Chat with two well-known Winnipeg entrepreneurs. This year’s chat will include President of Western Glove Works Bob Silver, and President & CEO of Mondetta Clothing Company Ash Modha, who will share their own stories of success in innovation and leadership.

Leaders will also be able to glean valuable insights from Bruce Good, Executive Director, the Centre for Business Innovation within the Conference Board of Canada. Good’s presentation will challenge some of the myths surrounding the status of business innovation in Canada, and cover key factors for improved performance. The day will also include panel discussions with various Winnipeg CEOs, roundtable discussions, and ample opportunity for networking.

The 2014 Annual Leadership Symposium: Embracing Innovation takes place November 6, 2014, at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre, 281 Donald Street. Click here for more information, including details of how to register.
