President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Annette Trimbee is pleased to announce that Michael (Mike) Emslie is the successful candidate in the search for Vice-President, Finance and Administration at The University of Winnipeg.
Mike has worked at the University since 2007 when he was hired as Director of Audit and Risk Management. He moved to the Financial Services division in 2008, and has been a member of the Executive Team since 2011, first as Associate Vice-President and more recently as Acting Vice-President. Prior to joining UWinnipeg, Mike worked as a Senior Audit Consultant at the University of Manitoba and has held various positions in the public and private sector throughout his career. Mike holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
Mike has made numerous positive contributions to the University, most notably the recent implementation of UWinnipeg’s three-year budget strategy. He is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities of working with the Executive team, Board of Regents, faculty, staff, and members of his team, to continue advancing the University’s Strategic Directions.
