UWinnipeg’s Dr. Pauline Ripat (Department of Classics), and her colleague, Dr. Christina Vester, Associate Professor at Waterloo, created the Ancient Greek app based on their international success with the Vice Verba app, which is a fun way to help strengthen Latin language skills for their students in Classics.

“Christina and I are really pleased to offer this new game, especially at a time when all instructors have to be creative to ensure that their students are engaging with the material,” said Ripat.

Like Vice Verba, Hoi Polloi Logoi, which means ‘the many words‘ is an educational game focused on improving students’ language skills.

“We hope that Hoi Polloi Logoi will offer a convenient, rewarding, and fun way for students to practice necessary material!,” said Ripat.”It has been really wonderful to see that enthusiasm for the ancient languages continues to thrive in what might seem like an unlikely medium, digital technology.”
