To Light A Candle – a documentary

UWinnipeg is showing the film To Light a Candle on on Friday, 27 February at 7:00 pm in Convocation Hall.

“To Light a Candle”, is a revealing documentary, made by Iran’s award winning filmmaker and journalist Maziar Bahari. The film is a turning point in addressing the circumstance of Baha’is in Iran. It unveils decades of repression, persecution and intimidation against a peaceful community of Iranians whose lives have been dramatically undermined by religious intolerance by the Iranian ruling class.” (Huffington Post).

“The Iranian government says that education is a crime for Baha’is,” Archbishop Tutu said. “We can tell the government of Iran, and the world, that banning the Baha’is or any group from higher education is hurting Iran and the Iranian people.” – Archbishop Desmond Tutu
