UWinnipeg Launches New Business Speaker Series

Everyone is welcome to attend a free public lecture on Wednesday, January 30 at 12:30 in the Buhler Centre.

Paul Mahon is the inaugural speaker at The University of Winnipeg’s Faculty of Business & Economics Professional Speaker Series on:

Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 12:30 to 1:20 pm, in room 55 on the 4th floor of the Buhler Centre, 460 Portage Avenue.

Mahon, President and Chief Operating Officer – Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life, will share his insights on the history of Great-West Life as a Winnipeg-based company that expanded nationally and globally.

He will also highlight why Winnipeg is important to one of the largest insurance companies in North America, and the crucial role Winnipeg educational institutions play in building successful companies.

Mahon’s unique perspective is shaped by his 25-year career in the insurance industry, including more than a decade as a senior executive at Great-West Life. He joined Great-West Life in 1986 in a marketing role after earning his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree.

The Faculty of Business & Economics Professional Speaker Series is a new initiative that brings accomplished and compelling guests to campus to inspire students and visitors with real world success stories. The bi-weekly lecture is free and open to the public.
