The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association is proud to announce the establishment of its first satellite location in the Merchants Corner complex at 541 Selkirk Avenue, scheduled to open in December of 2016.

Merchants Corner will be the home of the University of Winnipeg Urban and Inner City Studies department, and will also be the location of a new student housing facility.

The UWSA will maintain main offices at the UWinnipeg Portage Avenue campus. This additional location will provide services and resources to students studying at the Merchants Corner.

“In addition to being part of a new era in the North End, Merchants Corner will be a hub of student and community organizing. We embrace the opportunity to be immersed within this environment and facilitate universal access to education,” said Rorie Mcleod Arnould, President of the University of Winnipeg Students’ Association.

“We are thrilled to have the UWSA establish a satellite office at our North End location in Merchants Corner. Our rapidly growing student population will derive many benefits from the presence here of UWSA, and will in turn contribute significantly to UWSA activities,” said Dr. Jim Silver, Chair Urban and Inner-City Studies. “It’s an excellent partnership”.
