UWinnipeg honours Indigenous achievements
On Friday, May 12, The University of Winnipeg was pleased to recognize and celebrate its Indigenous students, faculty, and community at the 2023 Honouring Indigenous Achievement event.
We work hard to be a learning environment that exposes students to diverse ways of thinking, empowers them to contribute to research and scholarly work, and provides opportunities to develop the leadership skills they need to succeed.

Faculty of Graduate Studies student Michelle Beltran will be representing UWinnipeg at the Western Regional 3-Minute Thesis Competition at the University of Saskatchewan on May 25.
Cameron Adams (BEd/BA’23) is the third consecutive UWinnipeg student to be named a McCall MacBain Scholar and one of only 20 Canadian post-secondary students to receive the scholarship this year.
The top prize, $1,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Western Regional 3MT at the University of Saskatchewan on May 7, was awarded to Michelle Beltran, Master of Science in Bioscience, Technology and Public Policy program, for her presentation 'Oh My Gut: Effects of Short Chain Fatty Acids on Enteric Glial Cells.'
